Calculator reviewer — finance
A. Whitfield-Reyes reviews the finance calculators, checking compounding conventions, rate-period alignment, and whether each page is explicit about the costs and tax treatment it leaves out. Financial results are easy to state with false precision, so review focuses on whether the page makes its assumptions visible to a reader who is not looking for them.
What review means here
A reviewer is not the author. Before a calculator is published, the reviewer independently recomputes its worked test values, checks that the formula implemented matches the definition the page claims for it, and confirms the page is explicit about what it does not account for. Where a value is not definitional, the reviewer checks that a source is cited rather than assumed — and if one cannot be found, the calculator is dropped rather than guessed.
