Convert between crore, a unit from the Indian numbering system, and the international million.
How it works
One crore is defined as exactly 10,000,000, which is exactly 10 million, so 1 crore = 10 million. Enter a value in either field and the other updates instantly.
What this does not include
This converts crore to million only. The Indian numbering system also uses lakh (100,000, or one-hundredth of a crore), a separate unit not covered here.
How to use this calculator
- Enter a value in crore or million.
- The other field updates automatically.
Where is the crore commonly used?
India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other South Asian countries commonly use crore (and lakh) in everyday financial reporting, real estate pricing, and news coverage, alongside or instead of the international million/billion system.
How does crore relate to lakh?
One crore equals 100 lakh — the Indian numbering system groups digits differently from the international system, using lakh (100,000) and crore (10,000,000) as its primary large-number units.
Why does India use a different large-number naming system?
It reflects a historical numbering tradition with its own grouping convention (using commas every 2 digits after the first 3, rather than every 3 digits as in the international system) that remains standard in South Asian usage today.
