Calculator reviewer — health and fitness
N. Haddad reviews the health and fitness calculators, with particular attention to how population-level formulas are described to individual readers. Review here means checking that thresholds are attributed to a stated source rather than asserted, that estimates are labelled as estimates, and that the required health disclaimer is present and correctly worded.
What review means here
A reviewer is not the author. Before a calculator is published, the reviewer independently recomputes its worked test values, checks that the formula implemented matches the definition the page claims for it, and confirms the page is explicit about what it does not account for. Where a value is not definitional, the reviewer checks that a source is cited rather than assumed — and if one cannot be found, the calculator is dropped rather than guessed.
